CLIAVE Closing Ceremony
As the CLIAVE project draws to a close, that has brought together 6 partners from 5 nations, united to advance climate-focused agricultural vocational education. The closing ceremony marks not just the end of a project, but the beginning of a new chapter in sustainable agriculture.
The strategies, tools, and insights developed through CLIAVE-LMS will continue to empower agricultural students and educators, contributing to a more resilient and climate-smart agricultural sector.

We have our 5th transnational project meeting in České Budějovice, Czech Republic from May 23rd to 24th. The meeting brought together partners from five different countries who are working on the project "Climate Focused Agricultural Vocational Education". The main objectives of the meeting were to review the progress of the project activities and plan the next steps for the implementation and dissemination of the project results. The meeting was a valuable opportunity for networking, learning and collaboration among the project partners.
We would like to thank our Czech partner for hosting the meeting and organizing everything so well. We look forward to continuing our work on this project and hopping to meet again in other projects.
Our third multiplier event called "Climate Smart Agriculture Panel" Successfully Completed! Yalova, TURKIYE - 8 May 2024.
Within the scope of our project, we held our third multiplier event titled "Climate Smart Agriculture Panel" at the Atatürk Horticulture Central Research Institute on 8 May 2024, to discuss sustainable and climate-friendly practices in the field of agriculture and introduce our project results. The aim of the meeting was to introduce our project results, share information among the participants, transfer experience and create strategies for the future.
Our project team emphasized the importance of agriculture in the fight against climate change. Also we presented the CLIAVE Learning Management System and some of our training modules, which are our project results.

Within the scope of our project, we held our first multiplier event titled "Climate Smart Agriculture Panel" at the University of South Bohemia České Budějovice on 19 April 2024, to discuss sustainable and climate-friendly practices in the field of agriculture and introduce our project results.

The topic of the weekly FOR NATURE Program, prepared by TEMA Yalova Provincial Representation and presented by Provincial Representative Arzu Demir, broadcast on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 19.00, was SOIL and CLIMATE CHANGE, and its guest was project coordinator Dr. Erdinç became UYSAL. In the program that lasted 40 minutes in total, Dr. While Erdinç Uysal talked about the interaction of climate change and agriculture in general in his speech, he provided information about the CLIAVE Project in the last part of the program.
An event was organized in Slovenia to give information about the climate change and about our project CLIAVE on 17.01.2023.

Industrial Sustainability and Green Transformation Workshop was held between 12-14 October in Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University. The event was attended by approximately 200 people and simultaneously broadcasted online on screens installed on the university campus. A poster presentation was made by project partner Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burçin Atılgan TÜRKMEN from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University to promote the project.
Erasmus Days, which has been organized by Erasmus+ since 2018 and took place between 9-14 October 2023 this year, was celebrated in Yalova. Turkish National Agency is the manager of the program in Türkiye. A meeting was organized by the Atatürk Horticulture Central Research Institute in Yalova on October 12, 2023. In this meeting, the project named "Climate-Focused Agricultural Vocational Education (CLIAVE)", was introduced and a seminar presentation on the "Interaction of Soil and Climate Change" was made. TEMA Foundation Yalova Provincial Representation and Volunteers attended the seminar as listeners.
Atatürk Horticulture Central Research Institute Project Coordinator Dr. Erdinç Uysal was the speaker in the seminar held. In the seminar, the possible effects of agricultural activities and land use changes on greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change were discussed and the importance of soil in carbon storage was emphasized. At the end of the seminar, information was given about the CLIAVE project. While it was stated that climate is the most important determinant of agricultural production, it was stated that the project aims to contribute to the education of agricultural workers who provide guidance and consultancy to farmers and students studying agriculture. The meeting ended with the introduction of the project partners to the participants.
Within the scope of Erasmusdays programs, an event was organized for students by one of our project partners from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, on Wednesday, 11.10.2023. The meeting was attended by 62 students. Project coordinator Dr. Erdinç UYSAL and project partners Assoc. Dr Burçin Atılgan TÜRKMEN and Levent BURGU from Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University made a presentationn was given about the erasmus program and the CLIAVE project, and the project was introduced.
After the presentations, a question-and-answer session was held and participants' questions about the Erasmus program and the project were answered.
The Institute of Animal Husbandry organized the 14th International Symposium "Modern Trends In Livestock Production" on October 4-6, 2023. The event was attended by over 40 foreign participants from 23 countries. Dr. Dušica Ostojić Andrić, leader of the Serbian CLIAVE project team, presided over the section where interesting works on climate change in animal husbandry were presented. Dr. Samolovac, an associate of the CLIAVE project, presented a paper on cattle production in conditions of climate change. The constructive discussion that followed concluded that although animal husbandry contributes significantly to GHG emissions, there are various measures that can be applied to mitigate its impact on climate change.
CLIAVE was at the ISAS 2023 International Symposium - Panel Discussion on the Impact of Animal Production on the Environment
As part of the ISAS 2023 international symposium, held from September 18-20, 2023 at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, a panel discussion was held on the topic "Impact of animal production on the environment". Panel participants, including Dr Ljiljana Samolovac as a representative of the Institute and CLIAVE project, tried to answer some of the so-called "hot topic" questions regarding animal husbandry and the environment, such as: what is the actual impact of animal husbandry on the environment with reference to Serbia? What impacts of livestock production on the environment stand out as the most important? What is the connection between climate change and livestock production? The importance of the presence of cattle on the preservation of natural habitats, the vitality of the existing vegetation and more? What do farmers think about climate change? What should we do? Through the immediate discussion of panellists - eminent experts from Agricultural, Technological, Natural and Mathematical and other faculties, Institutes, meat processing plants and food producers, the current situation with potential scenarios in the future was presented to the media and the general public.

A promotional event was held for student interns at Atatürk Horticultural Central Research Institute who are having university education in different provinces of Türkiye. At the meeting held Erdinç Uysal gave information about CLIAVE and suggested students to use the training modules of the project in the future, after giving a presentation on “Climate Change and effects of it on Agriculture”.
Dr. Erdinç Uysal made a presentation about the CLIAVE project and project promotion materials were distributed to the participants at the 1st "Regional Group Meeting" where the completed and ongoing Institute projects were conveyed to the participants.
1st "Regional Group Meeting" for 2023 was held on 22 June 2023 by Institute Prof. Dr. It was held in Sabahattin Özbek Meeting Hall.
Bartın, Bursa, Düzce, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova and Zonguldak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Bandırma Sheep Breeding Research Institute, Sakarya Maize Research Institute, Bursa Central Research Institute of Food And Feed Control and some professional organizations.
Yalova Municipality and TEMA (The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats), jointly organized the second “Nature, Science, Art and Sports Festival” which was held on 10-11 June 2023. Citizens showed great interest during the two days of the festival, which also included topics such as Climate Change and Biodiversity. The CLIAVE Project Team also took part in this event by distributing brochures throughout the activities and providing detailed information about the project to those who are interested.

Livestock Breeders' Day at the 90th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the CLIAVE project and its preliminary findings to the gathering agronomists, agriculture students, and breeders. On this occasion, Dr. Dušica Ostojić Andrić gave a presentation on animal husbandry and climate change in which the project's first results were disseminated. Following the presentation, a heated discussion demonstrated how popular this topic is among professionals.

Project 2nd Transnational Project Meeting was held on 17 October 2022 in Iaşi, city of Romania, together with the project partners. At the project meeting, which lasted for 2 days in total, plans were made and information was exchanged with the project partners on how to proceed in the next stages of the project. After the meeting in which the activities of the project were conferred, a technical visit was organized at the Food Technologies and Onology facilities of IASI University and the meeting was completed.
On October 10, 2022 at the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia (KGZS) – Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Maribor were presented framework, goal, scopes and also all partners of the CLIAVE to the agricultural advisers.
On the event dissemination materials were distributed to the attendees. Also all participants were informed about possibilities of following news about the project through the social media and websites.
TÜBİTAK 4007 Bilecik Science Festival was held between 6-8 October 2022 in order to provide scientific support to students' academic skills and to incorporate innovative technologies and studies into education and training processes. Within the scope of the event, CLIAVE was introduced to students and teachers at the seminars where held at Refik Arslan Öztürk Science High School and Bilecik Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.
"BURTARIM - Bursa 19th International Agriculture, Seedling, Sapling and Dairy Industry Fair and Bursa 14th International Livestock and Equipment Fair'', which is one of the most comprehensive agriculture fairs held every year in Turkey, had been held in Tüyap Bursa International Fair and Congress Center between 4-8 October 2022. Many domestic and international exhibitors and visitors stopped by at our stand and were informed about the project and brochures were distributed.

During the currently running academic year, on September 30, 2022, at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, University of South Bohemia, the framework, activities, goals, and scope, and all the partner institutions of CLIAVE project were presented to the participants of the Researchers ‘night event. Dissemination of the CLIAVE project was not the main goal of the event, but leaflets and dissemination materials were distributed to those interested.

The close out meeting of the projects of the Ministry of Agriculture on the conservation of genetic resources in Serbia served as a great opportunity to promote the CLIAVE project. Indigenous breeds can play a significant role in mitigating and adapting to climate change, which was emphasized at this meeting. The meeting was held on September 19, 2022 at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGI) of the University of Belgrade, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, agronomists, students and researchers who were invited to follow the project's activities through the website and social networks.
On the occasion of the launch of the CLIAVE project, Dr. Ljiljana Samolovac was a guest of the agro-show "Plodno i rodno" on B92 television, where she spoke about the importance and impact of climate change on agriculture. On that occasion, the importance of this interaction in the field of animal husbandry was particularly highlighted, as well as the need to raise awareness and strengthen the competencies of all employees in the agricultural sector, including future experts - students, through projects such as CLIAVE.

At the very beginning of the new academic year, on September 13, 2022, at the Faculty of Agriculture-University of Belgrade, a meeting was held to which students and experts from the advisory services of Serbia were invited to learn about the CLIAVE project. After the presentation of the project, brochures were distributed to the attendees and they were informed about the possibilities of following news through the website and social networks.
Agronomists and farmers from four regions of Serbia were introduced to the initiation and details of the CLIAVE project at promotional events as part of workshops held from September 7 to 9, 2022, in agricultural advisory services in Vranje, Leskovac, Pirot and Knjaževac. The vocational and general public was informed about it through the local media.

CLIAVE project at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology. Climate Focused Agricultural Vocational Education project (numbered 2021-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000032974) is supported by the European Union and the Turkish National Agency within the scope of the Erasmus+ program and under Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training action. The Project is carried out under the coordination of Atatürk Horticultural Central Research Institute and with partners from Türkiye (Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University); Czech Republic (The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Faculty of Agriculture and Technology), Slovenia (Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Maribor); Serbia (Institute for Animal Husbandry) and Romania (Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS)). As part of this project, Faculty of Agriculture and Technology is dealing with the issue of Climate Resilient Cropping Systém.
On July 29, 2022, a meeting was organized as part of the CLIAVE Project for students who continue their internship at Atatürk Horticultural Central Research Institute. A total of 18 university students who study agriculture in 11 different universities in Turkey attended the meeting. Project coordinator Dr Erdinç Uysal first gave a presentation about the effects of climate on agriculture. After that he informed the students about the CLIAVE Project and explained how to use the CLIAVE Learning Management System (C-LMS), which is still in preparation.
After the presentations the meeting closed with a Q&A session.
Climate Focused Agricultural Vocational Education project (numbered 2021-1-TR01-KA220-VET-000032974) is supported by the European Union and the Turkish National Agency within the scope of the Erasmus+ program and under Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training action. The Project is carried out under the coordination of Atatürk Horticultural Central Research Institute and with partners from Türkiye (Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University); Czech Republic (The University of South Bohemia), Slovenia (Institute of Agriculture and Forestry Maribor); Serbia (Institute for Animal Husbandry) and Romania (Iasi University of Life Sciences (IULS)). Project opening ceremony was held with the participation of the Governor of Yalova, Muammer EROL, on 8 June 2022, together with the project partners. At the project meeting, which lasted for 3 days in total, plans were made and information was exchanged with the project partners on how to proceed in the next stages of the project.
Çınarcık Municipality, together with Çınarcık District Directorate of National Education and TEMA Foundation, organized a nature, science, art and sports festival in Çınarcık due to Environmental Protection Week. In the festival, informative activities such as climate change, beekeeping, biodiversity, medicinal plants and herbs, trekking; In addition to applied workshops such as nature-friendly cleaning, waste-free living, paper making, model airplanes, ceramics, children's games, bicycle tour, slow driving race, climbing and diving took place. As the project team, we continued our project promotion activity at the festival in June 4, 2022.
As CLIAVE, we participated in the Yalova Environmental Festival which held between May 30 - June 1, 2022, organized by the municipality of Yalova to raise awareness. The student groups who visited our stand, were informed about the project and leaflets were distributed.
